SMOKEY THE BEER BY WELLINGTON BREWERY

  • STYLE: SMOKED | ALE
  • ABV: 5.2%
  • COUNTRY: CANADA
  • REGION: GUELPH, ONTARIO
  • BREWERY: WELLINGTON BREWERY

According to Wellington Brewery, it is described as “a medium bodied malt forward ale with smoked malts added for a dry and smokey finish.”

Appearance | Copper/Chestnut Brownish

Smell | Smokey.

Taste | Smokiness. Dry.  Right amount of smokiness.  With a couple of sips, you can sense more smokiness (whatever it be beef jerky or smoked cheddar)

Aftertaste | Dry, smoked finish. Doesn’t linger long after.

Overall | It’s hard to describe this beer. ‘Smokey The Beer’ is living up to its name.  In my experience, smokey beer is often overwhelming an unattractive. Smokey The Beer is the opposite of that.  While I was drinking this beer, I just couldn’t help but note the taste of  beef jerky and smoked cheese. I thoroughly enjoyed this beer. And for those foodies out there, I’d recommend this beer with a old cheese & smoked sausage platter.

Wellington Brewery announced via Facebook & Twitter that it would be releasing ‘Smokey The Beer‘, the latest in their Welly One-Off series on Valentine’s Day.  What a great Valentine’s Day gift!

Smokey The Beer is available exclusively at Wellington Brewery and only in 473ML cans while supplies last.

Needless to say, I’m a huge fan of Wellington Brewery and its beer line-up.  If you haven’t had a chance to try any of their beer, you should at least pick up the four-pack that’s available in LCBOs & Wellington Brewery.
