From Hogsback Brewing Co.,

Our inaugural and flagship style is a European-inspired lager with superior flavour derived from using only premium ingredients combining three malt types (2-Row, Munich and Vienna), unique Saaz hops and German lager yeast. The result is a crisp, flavourful lager experience.

Appearance | Clear amber body with small head that disappears quickly.

Smell | Grains, biscuit, hints of corn, malts, grassy, and floral.

Taste | Grains, biscuits, grassy, malts, and hints of citrus.

Aftertaste | Malts, grainy, hoppy finish.

Overall |  This is the flagship brew from Hogsback Brewing Co.  It’s a refreshing crisp and medium carbonation brew that would be welcomed this summer.  That being said, it’s a beer that does its job.   There’s nothing complicated about this brew, really.   These guys recently appeared on CBC’s Dragon’s Den.  This lager won gold in the North American Lager category at the 2014 Ontario Brewing Awards.   (In case if you’re wondering, it beat out Lake of Bays’ Top Shelf Classic Lager and Amsterdam’s Natural Blonde)

Food Pairing | Ribs, sausage on a bun, or pulled pork sandwich.
