The Introduction

As a child, RoboHop was shunned for his laser beam eyeballs, bulbous hop-shaped torso and robotic limbs. During adolescence however, things changed for our hero. He captained his high school hockey team, routinely took-over dance floors and , thusly, garnered a lot of attention from female classmates.

Today, RoboHop battles the blandness of the big boys by making this killer-hoppy and bracingly-bitter beer.

Appearance | Hazy, yellow-orange with a white dense head that doesn’t dissipates quickly.

Smell | Tropical citrus (oranges, lemons, tangerines), hops, and pine.

Taste | Tropical citrus (oranges, lemons, tangerines), pine resin, hops, medium-strong bitterness.

Overall | Hops has a new name.  From Great Lakes Brewery, this is RoboHop.

Out of the bottle pours a beautiful yellow-orange hazy colour with a white head that takes a while to dissipates.   The head laces the glass with every sip.   As soon as the bottle was cracked open, the amazing aroma of tropical citrus filled the air.    Your palate will be dominated with tropical citrus (oranges, lemons, tangerines), pine, massive hops, and at 100IBU, there is medium-strong bitterness.  If you don’t like bitterness, this might not be your boat but…don’t rule it out!

This is a fantastic Imperial India Pale Ale from Great Lakes Brewery and in Ontario, they have the key to the kingdom of IPAs.    From Karma Citra to RoboHop to THRUST!, you won’t be disappointed by these guys.    There’s a reason why they are back to back Canadian Brewery of the Year!
