The Introduction

Despite the bad rap of Suburbia, it exists.  So many of us grew up there synthesizing pop culture into philosophy. Being raised on tv, escaping through music, and expressing angst in the margins of notebooks, without Suburbia, we wouldn’t have those ubiquitous, unifying experiences that incited our mild rebellions.  Surprisingly, Suburbia can release a flowering of uniqueness.

Appearance | Hazy, straw colour with bubbly white head.

Smell | Tropical citrus (lemon, grapefruit, tangerine), hoppy, and subtle notes of biscuits.

Taste | Tropical citrus (lemon, grapefruit, tangerine), low bitterness.

Overall | Beers of Anarchy! From Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery, this is Genius of Suburbia!

From the bottle pours a hazy, yellow colour with a white head that settles after a while.  The aroma and taste is similar with its notes of tropical citrus, zest, and pine.   With each sip, you can taste lemon, grapefruit, and tangerine.  As for the ABV of 3.8%, you don’t even taste it.  It’s so light that you could easily drink quite a few on a hot, humid day to keep you “hydrated”.

Now I know that I haven’t really done a lot of reviews of Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery but they are one of the most underrated breweries in Ontario.   I was at the LCBO the other day and decided that I want to get a six pack of Flying Monkeys.  At the LCBO, I saw Genius of Suburbia and figured ‘Well, why not?’ and with the low ABV of 3.8%, I figured it would be pretty light and refreshing.   Especially with the weather lately, this was the perfect beer.
