From Cameron’s Brewing Co.,
Inspired by the wild plains where thousands upon thousands of footsteps have been taken by a truly noble animal, Where the Buffalo Roam takes its roots in oak bourbon barrels so this barley wine style ale can slowly age and meld with the bold, deep flavours of the quintessential southern drink. With notes of dark fruit and hints of toasted coconut, combined with the sweet and warming flavour of bourbon, Where the Buffalo Roam is a real treat to lay down with after migrating home. We invite you to take this distinct passage travelled by wonderers.
Just like New Wood Brett Saison, it follows the same theme and texture sticker for Where The Buffalo Roam. Give that designer a high five, Cameron’s! I wish I could peel off the sticker and stick it on the fridge (it ripped half-way, boo-urns!)
Where The Buffalo Roam poured a dark appearance with a ruby red undertone and a slight off-white sudsy head that later laced the glassware.
This had a pleasant aroma of dark cherries/fruits, some toffee and subtle note of slight toasted coconut.
Following its aroma was the smooth taste of dark fruits, bourbon, oaky, slight notes of vanilla and toffee.
I have to say that out of nowhere, Cameron’s Brewing Co. deserves all the hype for this incredible line-up of the Oak Foeder series. Where The Buffalo Roam Barley Wine is a wonderful 11.2% slow sipper that can be enjoyed anywhere. One of the most unexpected surprises from these guys, it’s incredibly smooth, right amount of warming and not overpowering with the bourbon. The kicker? At 11.2%, it’s so dangerously unnoticeable. Sip at your own beware! If you’re looking for this one? It’s a limited edition and only available at the brewery in Oakville. Now I want to get a couple more of this delicious treat and age it for a couple of years. Where The Buffalo Roam is highly recommended for those who loves a smooth and tasty Barley Wine. And if you really really want to kick it up a notch? Watch the legendary Bill Murray’s Where The Buffalo Roam while slow-sipping this Barley Wine!
